Barry Daniel Corbett
48 Dominion
It is with great sadness that we the family of Barry Daniel Corbett,
of Dominion, announce his sudden passing on September 01, 2010, at the
Glace Bay Healthcare Complex.
Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Walter Corbett and Anna
“Nancy”(Crowe) Corbett of Dominion, and was a member of
St. Eugene’s parish.
Barry was a true family man, nothing or no-one came before his wife
Donna and their children Cassidy, Sarah and Keagan. Barry enjoyed
sports, especially baseball and hockey, and he was a true fan to his
team “The Boston Bruins”. In 1980 Barry was a member of
the Dominion Hawks baseball team and in that year they won the
provincial title. He had a great sense of humor with a very quick and
dry wit, Barry was loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing
him.
Barry was employed with the Autism Society, Resi-Care and in earlier
years at Jaspers Restaurant in Glace Bay.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 26 years, Donna
(Ferguson), daughters Cassidy, Sarah, son Keagan all at home; mother
Nancy Corbett, Dominion; brothers Neil (Michelle), Greg (Donna),
Walter (Paula), Michael (Mary),all of Glace Bay, Jake (Stella) New
Waterford; sister Renee (Eddie) Penny, New Waterford, nieces, nephews
and many great friends.
In keeping with his giving nature, Barry's wishes to be an organ and
tissue donor were honored.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care
and direction of the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St.
Glace Bay.
A Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene’s Church,
Dominion, 11 am Monday, September 06, 2010, with Fr. Leo Boone
officiating .
Interment will be in the parish cemetery. A luncheon will follow in
the church hall, all are welcome.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Barry's memory may be made
to the Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of
choice.
Online condolences to the family can be expressed at

Condolences
A true gentleman... I remember that year in 1980 and many before it. Barry was the guy that would get in front of anything that was hit at him. Believe me he took some nasty bounces, yet never a complaint. Knowing how much he loved the game, I can see that it paled in comparison to how much he loved his family. Rest in peace my friend.

Donna my heart goes out to you and the kids! Barry was a great man and a great friend. Many of nights when we worked backshift together he would be telling me stories about how you guys met and always talking about Cassidy and was so excited to tell me when you guys got Keagan. Donna I dont know exactly what to say as I am still in shock over it all Matthew and Emily asked me mom is that the guy you worked with that was the Boston fan and always told me what a great team and Emily said mommy is that the man whose wife works at our school. I said yes and they both looked at me and said we will help her when she comes back to work. Donna you and Barry have made a big impression on my kids and myself as well the love he had for you and vice versa was noticed and cherished by all who knew you both. You have three beautiful kids who will always know what a great man and dad Barry was and what a great Mom they have! You guys will always have and angel watching over you as he will always be protecting you all. Donna if there is anything you need please dont hestiate to call or ask I would and will always be here to help as Barry was there for so many people.
